Born in 1958 as (Virginia Brown) in a coastal town, known as Belfast. The
state of Maine, is where she was raised and grew up as the third child of
Clarence and Sheila (Roberts) Brown. As a child, she would sit on the
veranda with pen and pad in hand writing for hours upon hours. She had a
diary her mother gave her to write in, with a little lock and key; that
diary soon turned into tablets of writings, then into notebooks of writings,
and when asked, she confessed: "Into now-- a suitcase of writings."
Virginia
always dreamed of being a published poet, or a storybook writer, and that one day her
stories and
books
would be read and enjoyed by many... Wright said, "What a rewarding feeling
it is, to know that something you wrote mattered in someone's life; that it
may have made someone stop and think for a moment, smile, or even
laugh." Virginia Wright is now living in the Downeast area in the beautiful state of
Maine.
More about the Author:
VIRGINIA WRIGHT is author and illustrator of the children's
books-- Crying Bear, The Princess and the Castle, The Prince and
the Dragon, and Buzzzzzzzz. Virginia
says she has found her love of words in children's writing.
Wright says being a preschool teacher for a number of years at a
private Christian Preschool and Kindergarten in Mississippi was
definitely an inspiration for writing children's books, but the
true inspiration comes from her five grandchildren and her
special needs brother-in-law that she cares for and who lives with
she and her husband.

VIRGINIA WRIGHT a published author...
After graduating high school class of 1976, she took coursework in
Journalism and Writing. Later while raising children, her writings were published in an Anthology-- Soundings, by
The Poetry Fellowship of Maine; a derivative writing was also published in
newsprint by the Bangor Daily Newspaper. But she first considers herself a published
author when she sold one of her writings to a regional Maine magazine in 1981. She says her dream was realized that day
looking at her work in print and holding the check in her hand, but her
dreams just deepened...

From the Author...
For over 30+ years I have been married to a man who made the military his
career. With living and traveling in Europe there was always an
adventure around every corner- starting with racing around Rome on Vespa's
and attending service at the Vatican and being blessed by the Pope,
to traveling by train to Venice. Then there was the ride up Mt. Etna in Sicily on the ski
gondola, to giving birth abroad in Naples, Italy; and I will never
forget the day I participated in a bullfight in Spain by distracting the
bull, I had to shimmy up a pole and ring a bell in an attempt to win a
bottle of champagne; oh, my! I can
tell you for certain-- there has never been any room for boredom in my life,
and by the way, I won that bottle of champagne... It was
hard to call any place home while being a military wife, besides living in
Europe, home was also seven different states for myself and family.
My husband and I have two grown sons, Rob and Shane-- a daughter-in-law and
five grandchildren. I presently live in Ohio
with my husband where I write in the hills high above the valley. We
live on our twenty acre farm and when I'm not watering our multiple gardens, canning,
collecting sap, cooking, feeding our chickens and dog, my time is spent as a freelance
writer, but these days instead of a pen and pad still in hand, it is
the computer keyboard and a click of the mouse, but I am still doing what I enjoy doing most,
Writing...
